Tamara, thanks for putting your site “in the barrel” for review. I found your site simple, easy to navigate, nice personal writing style and good use of photos appropriately placed. I noticed that most of your third tier pages are the same. It might help page ranking if you added additional tier pages closer aligned with each particular page two. There was good use of “hot link” pages throughout the site. GOOD JOB! Keep up the good work!

Here is the Adwords keywordtool formula

I got it from my good friend Tania Williams
    Here is her original post:

There are a number of factors to consider when looking at demand (global search volume)

Go for over 20 000 when looking at a broad niche word, with over 30 related keywords listed. At least 5 of these should also have high search volumes (over 1000).

Re: the supply (competition): If you are wanting to go with free tools, this is going to take a little work. You’ll need to find the real supply on google (type in allinanchor + the keyword) into google and check the results. This will give you S (Supply)

    Then do a calculation:

D²/S. (global Demand) squared , divided by S (supply as above).

This will give you KOI (Keyword opportunity Index). As these are difficult numbers to interpret, you need to do another calculation:

Log (KOI value) → (x2) → KPI value

once you have KPI, you can interpret as follows:

kEYWORDS WITH KPI UNDER 2 = NOT WORTH INVESTIGATING.

kEYWORDS WITH KPI BETWEEN 2- 6= GOOD STABLE WORDS TO USE

kEYWORDS WITH KPI OVER 6= EXCELLENT (SILO) KEYWORDS.

I wrote a 5 step process about this with examples – on my blog. Feel free to read and ask questions!
